Here are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions. If in doubt, please email us.
Why don't you have everything on the store in stock?
If I limited my offerings to what I had in stock, space limitations would mean a very small selection for you. In order to offer the best selection and pricing, I generally order items after I receive your order. As I discover items are popular (I get orders for the same item every week or so), I will stock a few for faster delivery. and those items will then be marked "In Stock" on the website.
Most of my distributors ship to me within 1-5 days of my placing the order with them which allows me to get it to you within 3-10 days as stated on the site. There are exceptions of course and occasionally items are discontinued without notice or temporarily out of stock with the distributor. We make every effort to keep you informed of this, though please be aware we are human and make mistakes. Use one of the methods on the "Contact Us" page to check the status of your order. We are also working on improving the status messages when you log into the site to let you know what is up with your order(s).
Why are your prices lower than that other site?We are collectors ourselves and hate paying big prices for the things we want nor do we ascribe to the "what the market will bear" pricing policy. We also don't believe in marking items up 10 times higher than our wholesale prices. Of course we do mark things up (otherwise we couldn't stay in business!), but you will notice that we usually price items well below the Suggested Retail prices (which we list in the descriptions when we know them) when we can - some distributors have a set minimum price you are not allowed to sell belwo. Some things we get better discounts on therefore offer better prices.
Why was the item I ordered no longer available?
Unfortunately, manufacturers & distributors often discontinue or sell out of items and don't bother telling those of us who sell them :-(. We make every effort to keep our websites up-to-date and remove discontinued or sold out items, but this is very hard to keep current so please understand. We do not charge credit cards until we check on availability (and issue refunds as necessary if it showed as available then wasn't). Of course if you pay via Paypal, the funds are immediately transferred to our account as that is how Paypal works. In that case, we issue a full refund back to your Paypal account.
What does Pre-Order Item mean?
Many limited edition collectibles are first released for "Pre-Order" before they are released to retail sales. In theory, this insures you will get one when the item is actually released. In practice, however, pre-order items are sometimes snapped up by the "big guys" before us smaller dealers can get them. I always try to get several of these items on order as soon as they are available for pre-order, but due to the nature of the business, I can never guarantee a Pre-Order item will be available to me to ship to you. Ordering as soon as possible helps the odds and I will try my best to get it from you, but please understand the collectibles market is an ever changing beast.
How are Pre-Order Items charged?
I do not charge for Pre-order items until I get them in hand. As stated above, I may not always be able to get them as expected.
These items are charged 50% when you reserve it and 50% + shipping upon shipping. This is because in order to insure we can get your item, we have to pre-pay and reserve it from the manufacturer/distributor. Unfortunately, we get a few bogus orders with bogus credit cards and by charging 50% upfront, we can be sure this won't be an issue to affect your order.
In the case of items over $250, we will charge 30% upon the time of order, 30% 30 days before expected date, and 30% + shipping when the piece is shipped (and refunded if the item is not available as expected). This allows me to try my best to lock in the order from the distributor or manufacturer.
